I have been to Venice last April.
Describe the site :
Founded in the 5th Century, over 118 small islands,Venice was already one of the most powerful cities in Europe around the year 1000.
The most famous place is piazza San Marco where we can find Saint Mark's Basilica, the Palazzo Ducale and the Campanile.
Very famous are also their bridges, Ponte Rialto and Ponte dei Suspiri. There are also a lot of cafes, museums and galleries like Peggy Guggenheim collection.
Situated on the extremity of a closed-off part of the sea, the lagoon is frequently subjected to the fluctuations in water levels – high water that periodically floods its piazzas, or low waters that can obstruct navigation.
The city is a famous touristic destination. Every year they celebrate its famous Carnival and the Venice Film Festival.
Visitors can discover the city walking across the steets or by boat choosing the gondolas or the vaporettos.
